The first train came to Stevens Point in 1871- and Locomotive #2713 (built in 1911), is a testament to the important role that railroad has played in the city since that date. Stevens Point’s Southside Railroad Complex was once the hub of railroad activity in Central Wisconsin.
Locomotive #2713, on display since 1955, is open for exploration and includes stairs to allow for close inspection of the engine and caboose. The seat in the engine makes a fun photo opportunity and allows visitors to an “engineers view” of the area. A great stop for kids and adults alike.
Locomotive #2713 is located on Business Highway 51 in Stevens Point.
